Old Girl News

When I was at Hethersett in the 1970’s it was one of the best times of my life. I was known then as Karen Debelle. I was captain of the rounder’s team and a real good GA in netball. Good memories.

Good Morning from an extremely Old Girl.
I remember my time at Hethersett with very fond memories but it was so far back at the dawn of time that I mercifully cannot recall the dates. However it would be most interesting to be able to catch up with my contemporaries, most of whom are probably all married and now with grandchildren, whereas I have managed to escape gliding up the aisle and have a small dog instead.

With kind regards,
Petrina Heward

I’m an old HOHS pupil from 1999-2008. I was looking at the school website and thought I’d let you know what I’m doing now for your records or to include in the old girls section. I left HOHS in 2008 after finishing my GCSEs, and after 6th Form at Norwich School, went to Durham University to study cell biology. After that I did an MSc in reproductive and developmental biology at Imperial College London. Having finished that earlier this year, I’m now studying for my PhD in epigenetics at Cambridge University with the Babraham Institute. I have some wonderful memories from my time at Hethersett and would love to visit again.

We were deeply saddened to hear of the death of one of our former pupils, Alexandra Joan Symington (nee Harrison) after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

One of Alex’s past teachers, Mrs Jane Grove, attended the funeral on behalf of the school.
