Sea Life Centre Visit
This week, children in the Nursery and Reception classes visited the Sea Life Centre in Great Yarmouth. The children were given a guided tour so they could learn all about the fish and sea creatures in the centre. They were even allowed to touch a starfish! The trip was highly informative and thoroughly enjoyed by all the children. More pictures of this trip will be published on our Facebook page and in the website news section tomorrow.
Lunch Menu
Welcome to the last week of the term. Here is this week’s menu.
Stars of the Week!
This week’s stars are as follows:
Charlie (Year 2) for neat and accurate handwriting and for tackling a difficult challenge in maths with great perseverance.
Lottie (Year 1) for moving up a level in reading and for excellent work in science.
Francesca (Reception) for working really hard with her reading and being very helpful in class.
Margot (Nursery) for being a very kind and helpful friend to a new child in Nursery.
Well done to all our stars!
Banham Zoo
Earlier in March, Years 1 & 2 visited Banham Zoo. The children looked at the differences between animals from different continents and learned how to identify whether they were carnivorous, herbivorous or omnivorous. The picture below shows the children in the sloth enclosure and, above our heads, we were very lucky to see the sloths climbing and eating fruit – a very rare sight! For more photos, please see our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/HethersettOldHallSchool/
Rainbows in Reception
This week, Reception Class presented an assembly all about the work they have been doing this term. They have been learning about water and told us all about rainbows, sang a song, displayed their beautiful rainbow mobiles and told us about rainbow fish. It was a wonderfully colourful and informative assembly enjoyed by all.
Easter Egg Collection
This term, Year 11 have been organising a collection of Easter Eggs for children in the East Anglian Children’s Hospice. As a tutor group, they collected 18 Easter Eggs out of the school’s total which reached over 60. Well done to Year 11 and thank you to everyone in the school who donated an egg. They will be delivered to the hospice this week.
World Book Day
Today is World Book Day and the Prep School children did a wonderful job dressing up to represent their favourite literary characters. Wally in his red and white striped jumper, although difficult to find, put in an appearance as did Harry, Hermione and even Moaning Myrtle. To see which characters you can spot in our gallery of photos, please click the following link.

The Dinosaur Hunt!
It has been an exciting half term for our Nursery pupils. They have learned lots of facts about dinosaurs, painted dinosaur pictures and presented an assembly. Best of all, they went on a dinosaur hunt, following a trail of dinosaur footprints which led them to a dinosaur egg! To see the video of their egg-hunting adventures, please visit our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/HethersettOldHallSchool/ (which is available to everyone even if you haven’t got your own Facebook account).
