Sea Life Centre Visit

This week, children in the Nursery and Reception classes visited the Sea Life Centre in Great Yarmouth. The children were given a guided tour so they could learn all about the fish and sea creatures in the centre. They were even allowed to touch a starfish! The trip was highly informative and thoroughly enjoyed by all the children. More pictures of this trip will be published on our Facebook page and in the website news section tomorrow.

Boarders’ Outing

The Saturday trip for the boarders this weekend was to Blickling Hall. They had the opportunity to explore the house and gardens, which were looking beautiful, and, since it was Mother’s Day on Sunday, they looked for gifts. They particularly liked the very cute Egyptian goslings, pictured below, that wandered past them in the grounds.

Banham Zoo

Earlier in March, Years 1 & 2 visited Banham Zoo. The children looked at the differences between animals from different continents and learned how to identify whether they were carnivorous, herbivorous or omnivorous. The picture below shows the children in the sloth enclosure and, above our heads, we were very lucky to see the sloths climbing and eating fruit – a very rare sight! For more photos, please see our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/HethersettOldHallSchool/

Rainbows in Reception

This week, Reception Class presented an assembly all about the work they have been doing this term. They have been learning about water and told us all about rainbows, sang a song, displayed their beautiful rainbow mobiles and told us about rainbow fish. It was a wonderfully colourful and informative assembly enjoyed by all.

World Book Day

Today is World Book Day and the Prep School children did a wonderful job dressing up to represent their favourite literary characters. Wally in his red and white striped jumper, although difficult to find, put in an appearance as did Harry, Hermione and even Moaning Myrtle. To see which characters you can spot in our gallery of photos, please click the following link.
